Applications Open!: 2024 MLK, Jr. Day of Service Grants

Transform Mid-Atlantic and fellow Partnership Alliance organizations across the country have jointly received a multi-year grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service (AmeriCorps) to support student and community volunteer engagement activities for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Partnership Alliance organizations, including Transform Mid-Atlantic, will award $250,000 in 2024 Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service Grants to colleges and universities throughout the region and country to support their programs and events.

After accepting responses to a preliminary Call for Grant Interest, TMA and Partnership Alliance organizations are releasing a full Request for Proposals and Application for the 2024 grant. TMA member campuses in Maryland, DC, Delaware, & Eastern West Virginia are invited to submit a full application to receive a sub-grant to support their student volunteer events and programs on their campus and/or in the community around Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2024.

TMA members campuses are eligible to apply for up to $5,000 to support events and programs that engage student volunteers on or around MLK, Jr. Day on their campuses and/or in their communities. Campuses are also encouraged but not required to work with other higher education institutions or partners / organizations / agencies to submit a collaborative application. Please note: grantees are required to complete specific background check procedures and make a 70% grant match (through staff time and other in-kind contributions). More information about both of these requirements are included in the RFP below. 

Applications are due no later than Friday, November 3, 2023, close of business. Those who represent non-profit organizations, agencies, non-member institutions, and other organizations and are interested in this grant opportunity should contact a partner at one of TMA's member campuses, as priority will be awarded to campuses that are members in good standing.
