(Frederick, MD; October 2023) -- At its October meeting, the TMA Board recognized and thanked outgoing Board Chair, Dr. Ronald Nowaczyk, President of Frostburg State University for his four years of stellar service from 2019-2023. “Dr. Nowaczyk led TMA through both the COVID-19 pandemic and our rebranding process in 2022. TMA’s growth and expansion in the face of these challenges would not have been possible without Dr. Nowaczyk’s leadership. His support through those chapters transformed them into opportunities for our organization’s growth!” states Madeline Yates, Executive Director. Dr. Nowaczyk has recently been appointed as a commissioner of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
The Board unanimously elected Dr. Colleen Perry Keith, President of Goldey-Beacom College (GBC), as the new Chair. Dr. Keith, is the first president from Delaware to serve as TMA Chair. “Dr. Keith brings decades of experience and leadership within diverse higher education settings, and we are so fortunate to have her as our organization’s new Board Chair. She deeply supports our organization’s mission and it is exciting to have her at the helm as we expand to serve a broader region throughout the Mid-Atlantic,” says Ms. Yates.
Prior to assuming the presidency of GBC, Dr. Keith previously served as President of Pfeiffer University and Spartanburg Methodist College. She also currently serves as Vice Chair of the NCAA Division II Executive Board. She is on numerous non-profit and philanthropic organizations’ boards in Delaware, and was recently named 2023 Female Leader of the Year by the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce in Delaware. She received her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs at The Ohio State University.
Welcome Dr. Keith!
