[Frederick, MD] -- Transform Mid-Atlantic and fellow Partnership Alliance organizations across the country are pleased to announce that they have jointly received a $250,000 2024 Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service Grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service (AmeriCorps). The Partnership Alliance is releasing a Call for Grant Interest for member colleges and universities - including TMA members in Maryland, DC, Delaware, & Eastern West Virginia - to submit their interest in pursuing a sub-grant to support student volunteer events and programs on their campus and/or in the community around Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2024.
TMA members campuses will be eligible to apply for up to $5,000 to support events and programs that engage student volunteers on or around MLK, Jr. Day on their campuses and/or in their communities. Campuses are also encouraged but not required to work with other higher education institutions or partners / organizations / agencies to submit a collaborative application.
A full grant application will be released later in the Fall 2023 semester; however, the Partnership Alliance has released a Call for Grant Interest encouraging institutions interested in the grant opportunity to submit their information by no later than Wednesday, September 20, 2023, close of business. Those who represent non-profit organizations, agencies, non-member institutions, and other organizations and are interested in this grant opportunity should contact a partner at one of TMA's member campuses, as sub-grants will only be awarded to campuses that are members in good standing.
