Purpose:
Transform Mid-Atlantic is looking forward to the upcoming gathering of our region’s Community Engaged Practitioners for a day of meaningful dialogue and interactive exercises that will bring new insight and skills to you and your campus’ civic and community engagement work. In this program, titled Understanding Justice in CommunityEngagement Practices, we will look at the significance of including a justice component in our thinking and practice on diversity, equity and inclusion through an interactive simulation on the racial wealth gap in America. Through a shared experience followed by reflection and discussion, this CEP gathering will provide meaningful insights to take back to your organizations and to inform your practices and partnerships in the communities where you work.
Objectives:
— Meet and engage with colleagues and fellow CEPs across the TMA network
— Explore and better understand the Justice component of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
— Learn about and discuss TMA’s 2023-2024 programming and event plans
