About Hayden
Hayden Renaghan (she/her/hers) is serving as a Transform Mid-Atlantic AmeriCorps VISTA Member with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Silver Spring, Maryland, where she supports the organization’s Community Engagement team. In her role, Hayden leads the office’s communications efforts—including newsletter distribution and social media—and is developing systems to consistently gather and incorporate client feedback.
Through her service year, Hayden hopes to strengthen her communication skills, develop a strong journalistic voice, and gain hands-on experience working within the nonprofit sector. She was drawn to the IRC’s mission and saw AmeriCorps as an opportunity to pursue meaningful work that aligns with her values and desire to contribute to community-centered impact.
Before joining the program, Hayden already had a sense of adventure—having walked 100 kilometers across northern Spain last year. And in case anyone is wondering: after working at a Neapolitan pizzeria, Hayden can confidently confirm that pineapple does not belong on pizza.
