  • WHAT IS AN IMPORTANT QUALITY OF AN EFFECTIVE LEADER?

"When I think about leadership, the qualities that stand out most to me are integrity, consistency, empathy, and the ability to take initiative even when something feels uncomfortable. I believe leadership is not only about holding a position but about being willing to show up for others advocate when needed and create positive change through both small and meaningful actions. I have learned that real leadership often happens in everyday moments when someone decides to care enough to act."

  • WHAT'S A COMMUNITY-BASED ISSUE THAT YOU CARE ABOUT?

"A complex problem I see on my campus and in my community is the lack of consistent support for students who are facing financial hardship housing insecurity and mental stress while trying to complete their education. Many students are balancing schoolwork and personal responsibilities and without proper support it becomes difficult for them to stay enrolled and succeed long term. This is a sustainability issue because when students are unable to complete their education it affects not only their future but also the strength and stability of the community as a whole."

  • TELL US ABOUT SOMETHING OR SOMEONE THAT INSPIRES YOU?

"A quote that inspires me in my journey as a community engaged student leader is the phrase 'in due time'. I once had a conversation with a friend and co worker where I was praising him for how accomplished and focused, he was. Instantly he returned the compliment and told me that I was just as accomplished and driven. My first reaction was to question what he said because at the time I did not fully see myself that way. He told me he wished I could see what he saw in me and I paused and calmly replied in due time. For the past two years that phrase has stayed with me. It reminds me to trust my growth even when I cannot fully see the results yet."
