Breaking Silos and Achieving Collective Impact: The Key to Community Engagement
Salma's journey took her all over the world. Ironically, it was her experience in Ghana where she learned about local government and the need for a Collective Impact Approach. In the clips below, Salma explains how she applies Collective Impact theory and practices that TMA has incorporated as the foundation of its learning and service model, and how it holds hope for making meaningful change in the city of Durham and beyond.
ALUMNI AWESOMENESS: Salma learned the ins and outs of local government during an internship with UNICEF in Ghana.
TMA VISTA PROJECT: Salma served in Alumni Affairs at the Friendship Public Charter School where she helped alumni connect with continued resources.
WHERE IS SHE NOW?: Salma works within the government for the city of Durham where she enjoys being able to enact policies and programs and see change on a local level.
